Thoracotomy

In this procedure, the patient is operated under general anaesthesia, the chest is opened after cutting the muscles and the ribs and biopsy is taken from the abnormal area. This procedure is rarely required for diagnosis in today’s set up and majority of the patients can be diagnosed by one of the above-mentioned tests.
