It is a procedure in which a piece is taken from a mass in the pleura for diagnostic purposes. It is usually done by putting in a needle from outside under ultrasound or CT scan guidance. If this does not help, a telescope is put inside the chest(Thoracoscopy) and biopsy is taken under vision.
